On Location is a series from Home Box Office. The series premiered in 1976 and features stand-up comedy with George Carlin, David Brenner, Redd Foxx, Rich Little, Robin Williams, Phyllis Diller, Buddy Hackett, Billy Crystal, Pat Cooper and more. In addition to showing select comedians, On Location featured comedy shows such as the annual Young Comedians Show, comedy club shows and more. From 1982 to 1986, a version of the "HBO In Space" program opening sequence was used to introduce the series.

The short piece features remarks and footage from Forster, Wilson, Bradley, Evans, Kurylenko and Arterton.

A young man at the start of his career experiences the hardship of an unfair 9-to-5 office job that becomes detrimental to his health.

Two unforeseen problems meant that many fans consider this the weakest Christmas special. Firstly, Talbot Rothwell became ill whilst writing the script, and was unable to finish it. Dave Freeman had to be brought in to complete the script, but the two men did not work together. As a result, the script does not flow as easily as the earlier offerings. Secondly, Charles Hawtrey pulled out of the special at short notice. Having taken third billing to Sid James and Terry Scott in the previous two shows, and knowing they would both be absent, Hawtrey demanded top billing. But Carry On producer Peter Rogers refused, giving top billing to Hattie Jacques instead. Hawtrey's role had hastily to be recast, and was split between Norman Rossington and Brian Oulton, both of whom had played cameo roles in several Carry On films. The special featured a collection of historical sketches, loosely linked around an 18th-century banquet.

British comedy with the Carry On team. A shop steward finds himself at loggerheads with the management at a lavatory factory, and discovers that his budgie has a special talent. This is the tale of industrial strife at WC Boggs' Lavatory factory. Vic Spanner is the union representative who calls a strike at the drop of a hat; eventually everyone has to get fed up with him. This is also the ideal opportunity for lots of lavatorial jokes...

In this fourth and final annual Christmas TV special, Sid is a working as saucy Santa in a department store grotto. He reflects on how Christmas has been celebrated though the ages, aided by sketches from the team set in prehistoric, Georgian, World War 1 and Robin Hood times - not to mention a dance routine that's a real nutcracker.
